What charger block do I need for the series 7. I am giving a watch for Xmas and I hknow that it comes with the charging cable, but does not come with the electrical block. Which one should I buy, either apple or amazon. It needs to work with the series 7 cable. Thanks for any help!

I even use my 5 W charger and it works. It may not be fast charging but I don’t care as long as it works.

Fast charging requires an Apple USB-C Magnetic Fast Charging Cable. This cable has aluminum around the magnetic charger and a USB-C connector.

You also need one of these power adapters:

  • Apple 18W, 20W, 29W, 30W, 61W, 87W, or 96W USB-C Power Adapter
  • A comparable third-party USB-C power adapter that supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) of 5W or greater
also note from me: I recently discovered that you want to avoid charging an Apple Watch on a multi-charger. I had such a weird experience with my series 5 not booting up, I’ve sworn off all non-Apple power bricks for my watches.

Also seems weird Apple doesn’t sell a little tiny usb-c power adapter like the classic iPhone wall wart, but I guess it wouldn’t be that much cheaper than the $19 20W. Or perhaps now that they’re getting into the GaN game, they have one upcoming.

Not having any problems using a multi-charger here. It might be just that particular charger you were using.

It wasn’t just one charger but it also was just that one watch and its particular gas gauge issues becoming mysteriously worse until it couldn’t leave the boot loop once it dipped below 100%.

I’m just saying there’s a weird edge case you can get to and Apple kb’s final recourse is to use the charging kit it came with and now I’m spooked haha.

It wouldn’t happen with other watches, of varying battery health, but I have one that’s even worse off than the troubled one, so just Apple bricks from here on out.

I have an official Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock that I love and use with my AW 6. Does anyone know if I can use a 20w charging block and a USB C to lightning cable into that doc for fast charging or does the ring on the apple doc not support it?

Any Apple Watch charger that was released before the S7 doesn’t support fast charging on the S7.

Just to clarify, you’re saying even if I feed my existing puck with a 20W charging block via a USB-C to lightning cable, the Apple charging stand still cannot utilize the higher wattage, correct?

If this is true, I am kind of surprised Apple has not released a an updated charging stand. But not everything they do makes sense to me.
