The part inside the iPhone 4 on the bottom where the charger cable connects seems to have bent or something. It only charges with one cable right now, and with that cable it works with i have to fiddle with it every time to get it charging. When I say I have to fiddle with the cable, I mean I have to push it in more than you normally would. I always leave my iPhone on my desk, so I'm not sure how this happened.

Any ideas? I also need to get a new charger cable soon, because the outer layer is starting to come off closer to the part that connects to the phone itself.

My contract from 2010 doesn't expire until Sept 2014.

Hello - well, from your description the docking/charging connector is likely damaged and should probably be replaced - of course, you could take the iPhone to an Apple store or another qualified repair shop for an estimate.

The other choice is to try to replace the connector yourself - checkout this iFixit Link for cost and installation guide - good luck! :)
