I certainly wasn't expecting the new MacBook to have that "plug in" chime that the iPhone and iPad have. Kind of different to hear that sound on a non-iOS device! :)

Yup! And not just that, but from Jason Snell's review of the MacBook:

In fact, if the MacBook is turned off, when you plug in the charging cable, the screen will come on briefly and indicate how charged its battery currently is. That’s not behavior you’d expect—when a computer’s off, it’s off—but it’s something you’ll find in the MacBook.
 
But the issue is I feel like somehow I bought a 12" iPad with a keyboard by accident.
