Charger/Dock

Anyone know if the iPhone 4 uses the same charger/dock as the 3GS or did they redesign it?

The 3G is rounded on the back so probably not. But maybe the 2G iphone dock will work with it.

I doubt it. My 2G dock is rounded too. Since the iPhone 4 is completely square, with rounded sides, and quite thinner, I think you'll have to get a new dock for it to work. Though, if you don't care about the dock, every 30-pin connector is universal (besides iPad, where you really need that charger to charge quickly).

it may fit due to it being thinner. tho the spot where the 30 pin connector could cause a problem.

Ok well I guess obviously the phone won't fit in the 3GS dock perfectly. My main question is, does the iPhone 4 use the same connector as the 3GS?

I'm pretty certain the connector is identical to the one in older iPhones.
