Chargers aren't that expensive on Ebay although most of them are copies.

I had mine broken 1 month ago, was for an old powerbook and here in Asia I could not find a new one so they swapped the cord to a general charger.

Apple's chargers are glued together and after breaking them open you won't be able to fix them nicely again.

The old one probably is also less in capacity (Watt) and if that is the case will also break down soon after.

Just buy a new one on Ebay.
