Hope you’re all doing well in these strange times

Before all this stay in place, I left the 96W charger for my 16” MBP at work - which I can not access since we’re all on mandatory work from home until the foreseeable future. Thus, I’m without the default charger for my machine.

my wife has the 13” model with the less powerful type c charger. That works, but obviously the battery still goes down, albeit more slowly, during use. I have a thinkpad type c charger also from another machine - if I plug in both to my 16” will it draw power from two type c ports at once? Any reason that could damage the machine?

Thanks

I am not an expert but since you may be hopeful of a quick answer, I am pretty sure I have read it charges from the quickest charging source only. It's the same as if you had a Mac plugged in plus had a charging source through say a usb connection to an external drive (some of them have smaller charging capability).

Since you might be home for awhile, why not buy one online form apple.com? They likely will deliver in a day or to tops, then you could have one at home and one at work!

Thanks, that’s what I was afraid of. Trying to avoid the extra $80 purchase if I can, but after two weeks this slow charging is really getting to me

I bought two extra chargers and love being able to have the full power available at different points around my home. Desk, bed, and living room are where I keep them plugged in.

Ya, the cost for a charger is a little disproportionate to every other device's price range, but the convenience is what matters most to me. Most of my outlets are not really easy to get to under the desk, under the headboard, or behind the sofa.

I'm gonna eventually plug in my 18w iPhone charger and see how light use on my computer chews on the battery life.
