Charging and using Macbook pro

Hey guys any recommendation on using mac on battery or charger ? I use my mac on the desk all the time, is it good idea to use it most of the day on battery or always have the charger plugged in? I heard some rumors not to drain the battery all the way because that's not that good for it.

With today's software managed batteries, it really doesn't matter. Leave it plugged in if you want. Apple has no specific recommendation besides use it the way you want to. https://www.apple.com/batteries/maximizing-performance/

I leave mine pugged in and the batteries have lasted well.

Leave it plugged in if you want; use it on battery power most of the time if you want; it doesn't really matter with the power management software.

Run plugged in when you can. Run on battery when you need to. You don't have to do anything specific with today's MacBooks to maintain battery health.

Mine is on my desk plugged into an eGPU which charges it all the time. Not had an issue so far.
