Charging cable

Hello!

I bought a new MBP a few days ago and I then discovered that Apple doesn't send a longer charging cable any more. I have an old one from my Macbook MC516S/C (2010?).

Can I use the old cable without any problems or will I damage to the charger or MBP?
The old charger was magsafe 60w and the charger to MBP is USB-C 61W.

I've been using the extended power cord(that came from my 2010 MBP) on the new power adapter from my 2017 MBP with no problems.

Of course it is safe to use it. Why would it not be?

Except the length, all the usb-c charging cables from Apple should be the same.
