charging in airplane mode

anyone else switch to airplane mode when they charge? it's amazing how much quicker it charges up. didnt realize how much the radio affects chargetime, even when its not in use

At night I do unless I'm on call. It does reduce charge times

I tried that, but found that I missed iMessages from my daughter. I wouldn't get them until several hours after turning airplane mode off.

I don't think it's necessary, but I'll check it out. I just got my iPhone 4S last week and have been keeping track of battery usage times and battery charge times just for my own interest. In the four times I've kept track I've gotten:

1) 63% charge in 60 minutes (9% --> 72%)
2) 64% charge in 60 minutes (22% --> 86%)
3) 59% charge in 60 minutes (37% --> 96%)
4) 47% charge in 60 minutes (50% --> 97%)

I think 1%/min is amazing. How much faster can it charge?
