I have a 5g ipod that I hook to my mac mini an imac for. I'm going to be going out of town in 10 days for a whole week an want have a mac computer with me but will have the company pc with me, I'm guessing that I plug my ipod into the pc usb port to charge the ipod with no problem or will that not work. I have little over an 3 hour plane ride both ways an plan to listen to the ipod during the week at the hotel an will more then likely need to charge it before coming home.

thaanks for info

Is the iPod 5GB or a 5th generation?

A 5th generation will charge via usb 2.0 on your PC and as long as you don't tell it to sync from it you will be fine. Make sure the usb port you have on your PC is 2.0

a 5GB original iPod, well I'm assuming it's not that, because a 6 yr old iPod probably doesn't work all that well. However, I doubt that one would charge from a PC usb port.
