Ok, so I get the above message on the lockscreen, but only when my battery is draining.

It charges fine, and while charging I don't get any "not supported" messages. As soon as unplug my ipod touch up pops the above message. No biggie, but annoying none the less.

Any ideas?

Just give it a good clean out. There's a good chance that there's just a lot of dust etc. in there.

Clean the dust out of the USB area with a small point. You can try some contact cleaner on the USB port. Basically, the iPod is detecting something latched on to the dock pins. There's a tweak in Cydia to remove the charging not supported message, but I would fix the issue if possible.
