I just picked up a Mophie juice pack for my iPhone.

It recommends charging both at the same time, by leaving the phone inserted into the case and then attaching the included Micro USB Plug to the juice pack itself.

Now, my phone is at 100 percent, and juice pack case itself is still charging. But my phone still indicates it is plugged in (lightning bolt next to the battery indicator) -
doesn't this mean it is constantly discharging and topping off, which can harm the battery? Especially if I am using the phone while the juice pack is still plugged in.

Or does the system bypass the battery completely when plugged in and 100 percent?
