When I charge my watch at night it occasionally makes the "I'm connected to a charger" sound during the night. Does that happen to anyone else? The watch is on a stand, but it doesn't seem to move.

The same thing happens to my wife occasionally.

Hasn't happened to me, but I don't use a stand.

Maybe the watch isn't touching the charger when on the stand and it loses contact sometimes?

Check out the my watch is warm thread. I had the same issue with a griffin watch stand. Was working perfectly with my 42mm Milanese, but not with my wife's 38mm modern buckle. The 38mm seemed like it would loose contact and never charge to 100%

Turn the sound off on the watch? I haven't had this issue with the stand I have.

If you have sound enabled on your watch it'll probably "ding" but my watch doesn't do any noise at all. Keep both the watch and phone on silent. Works like a charm.

If you find this an annoyance, you might want to set "do not disturb" to turn on automatically during the hours you typically sleep. I don't know if this setting affects the charger ding sound tho, Apple hasn't seen fit to release the watch in my country yet, so this might not work... :(

It should only make that noise when first attaching it to the charger and not after on an intermittent basis. I place mine on my charging stand before I go to sleep and mine only makes the sound when it first comes into contact with the charger.

I have found it pings when it is fully charged. Well when it makes the notice and I check it it's fully charged

This. The charger may be fluctuating voltage or otherwise cutting out intermittently. The sound is the charging restarting.

Hmm, time to break out my multimeter.

It's not really bothersome, just strange that it happens.

Sounds to me like you have a poor connection from the charging paddle to the watch.

This!

I had been futzing with my Spiegan stand and when I put the watch back on, it starting the ping every percentage it went up.
I realigned the charging puck more up into the stand and the issue stopped.

Ah-hah, that must be it!

Apple's chargers are universal, so they're not going to wonk out over an intermittent dip in line voltage. It's much more likely the charging puck is simply misaligned or not fully spooning the rear of the watch... :p

Do you use a stand?

----------

I don't use a stand it's never made a sound after the original charging sound.

No I don't use the stand. I've only heard the watch make the noise a couple of times but usually I'm fast asleep. Mine doesn't get hot either and the charging connection seems good so I just put it down to letting you know it's charged. Might charge it in the day and see
