Charging the iPhone 5 for the first time?

So, when I have the iPhone 5 - how am I supposed to charge it the first time?

I know theres been a thing with older batteries that they will last longer the more you charge it the first time - is this true?

Don't think so - as far as i've read recently you can use it however you wish, however apple do recommend a full discharge-charge to 100% cycle every month.
