I use the included charger and I also use my MBP charger.

I travel a fair bit so I can change the plug on the MBP charger for the country - no need to take adapters. This does mean I have had to get USB C cables for all my Apple products so I can travel light. (Watch / Iphone cables) Still amazes me that Apple don't standardise across all their hardware the same connector.

The last time I reviewed this issue the the 30w Apple power adapter was the maximum wattage the iPad Pro could take. Also the $19 2 meter cable allowed the most current to flow as it has larger gage wire vs the 1 meter cable that comes with the iPad.

‘’Nothing wrong with the 20w power adapter or 1 meter cable It comes with. But I researched the quickest charging combination , and 30w 2m cable was it. Someone did a study with various combinations.
. do a search on here to find it.

Have a couple of multiport anker USB chargers in the corner of the living room where everyone charged their phones/iPads. Some 2A lightning, some higher wattage lightning (for iPhone 12) and usb C for iPad Pro

supplied chargers mostly stay in the box - sometimes I’ll use the cable

Depends on where I am when I’m charging. If I’m at my desk its connected to a 87W MacBook charger with an apple 2m cable. Next to my bed is a RavPower pioneer 45W charger using an Anker Powercore III 6 foot cable. On the go depends if there is an outlet nearby, if there is then an Anker powerport elite pod 65w with a Uni 10ft cable. If there’s no outlet then same cable with an Anker powercore elite 26800 60w battery.

I would strongly recommend the incharge max from Rolling square. Super high quality and gives plenty of charging options.

Can someone explain to me whether it would be bad to charge my ipad Pro with an Apple 5w charger overnight vs the included charger?

My understanding is that the faster you charge your battery the faster it will degrade overtime. If I only charge my iPad at night while I sleep, would the 5w charger be sufficient? I understand that Apple puts many layers of battery protection in their chargers and the software, but I would still think slower charging provides better long-term battery health.

i’ve been doing this with my current 10.5 iPad Pro for many years now, and the battery has remained pretty good. However, as a switch to a 12.9 inch iPad Pro, I wonder just how slow the 5w charger is - And whether or not I should even care.

It wouldn't be harmful, but would take longer to charge.

Most of the time, I end up charging my 11" via a powered USB hub, at a rate a bit less than 5W. I've never bothered to explicitly measure the time required for a full 80% charge (20 to 100%), but it doesn't take more than five hours, if even that.

So, overnight should be sufficient, even for a 12.9" whose battery is about 28% larger.

Don't over think it, as many here do, or bend lifestyles for the sake of these devices, which are only tools.

Just out of curiosity

Can the new iPad Pro 2021 models be charged faster, now that it has a thunderbolt connection, and is there a higher rated power adapter which can do all (plus cable) this?

I charge my 2020 Air with a USB -> USB-C cable from my Surface Pro power brick plus I have an i-Tec PD charger USB-C/C that I use for the Air and my Surface. The supplied cable is in my bag that never goes anywhere as I am in permo-homeoffice :D

I'm wondering the same. I'd love to buy the best set of Thunderbolt/USB-C cable and power adapter so I can get a super fast charge when I need it.

Also is the max wattage still 30W or can we go beyond that with the M1 iPad Pro because of Thunderbolt?
