Peace in Plainfield
I preordered my iPhone 4 from Apple's website last Saturday. Since then I've called around and one AT&T store was getting iPhones in and taking walk-ins until they were out of 32GB iPhones, they put you on a list until they got more.

I paid the 50$ nonrefundable pre-order fee and am #4 on the list. The Apple store online queue said my phone would be shipped July 20th and in my hands by the 23rd.

The lady convinced me that the turnaround time for AT&T was 3 days for some, 1 week for others but the past couple days, she hasn't had any shipments come in for the 32GB. I figured "that shipment should be here anytime then!". I paid the pre-order fee and canceled my online order from Apple store.

On the way home, I thought to myself, maybe I should have kept the online order going. I think I gave up on the Apple store too quickly. I'd hate to start all over "in line" for the iPhone by waiting for AT&T to get their stock in.

Is Apple showing their online store orders more preference for shipping or are they trying to distribute more stock to AT&T stores to help kill the queue?

Thoughts, facts, and ranting welcome :)
