Can it be done ? I mean with the stronger hardware and iphone 4's front facing camera. It would be interesting. In theory it is possible i suppose, with wifi and front facing camera. What do you think?

I don't think you'd see one from the people who made Chatroulette, as their website uses a ton of Flash-based technologies for the peering.

I'm SURE someone else will make an iPhone-exclusive app, though. And if no one else does, I definitely will (once I'm done with my beginner's book on iPhone development ).

I would put my money on 2 things. An app that rip offs the general idea but only works for iPhones (or maybe other cells too), and a jailbroken chat roulette app. I really don't see an "official" release in the app store.

There are at least 3 "photo-swapping" apps in the app store right now that do the exact same thing as ChatRoulette but with photos instead of videos.

I don't see why they'd approve those but not ChatRoulette.

a huge gray area... probably a lot of developers sitting on the line on this one... if they were to develop the app, and have it rejected, it would be a waste of time and effort... and there's a huge possibility they'll run into some hurdles.
