Your 30-pin cable or accessory plugs into:

cellphoneshop_2232_5090996.jpg

$4

which plugs into:

$4

which you plug the cable your phone came with into.

What would simplify this would be a 30-pin Female > USB Female cable but I haven't been able to find one. It would eliminate the need for that USB Female > USB Female block I posted.

Have you tested this to see if it works? I would figure that there was some type of chip in apples adapters to deal with the 30 to 8 pin conversion.

This certainly won't work with anything that uses the analog audio. You need a digital audio converter for that. I think other people have tried this and concluded that it didn't work for anything but charging.

Well I only need it for charging for my application.

So you take a $19 lightning to USB cable + $4 USB to 30 pin cable + $4 USB extension = $27 charger?!?! Seriously, I think I'll just wait for the $29 adapter that does more than charge my phone.

Obviously it won't be a true 30pin adapter since it doesn't have the DAC's in the true lightning to 30 pin....

Some people like me already have the lightening to usb cable from our box. Everyone who gets a new iPhone, iPod etc gets one in their box "included."

Right.... But I have that attached to the charger my phone came with. So what does this really do? It doesn't give me another charger just another way then to use what I already got with my phone?!? Plus there isn't any guarantee that it will even work....

No I take a cable that came with my phone + $8 in parts.

But aren't you already using that cable to charge at your "home base"? I assume you want this for charging else where (i.e. in a car with a 30 pin adapter)? Further this is purely speculation that it will even work....

If someone ONLY needs to charge off of a 30 pin dock, then fine, but most need multiple chargers and therefore you would still need to pull the lightning to USB cable from one charger and take it with you to another one. What's the point?!?! So again, for most at least this is a $27 charger solution.....

Many people have already purchased extra cables, so this is a cheap alternative for exach cable you own. You are correct that its speculation at this point, but experimenting is more fun than not experimenting.
