since i will be getting a mini later this year, i will be needing an external optical drive. The superdrive looks great, but at £69 its WAY too much. Ive seen cheap plastic ones on the internet for like, £13 but i want somthing that looks good, but wont ruin my wallet. Any suggestions?

Most plain-old USB optical drives you can buy should work with Macs. I don't live in the UK, but I don't think you can get anything even remotely close to as cheap as £13.

Interesting find, I wonder who the manufacturer is and what the life-expectancy of one of those drives is...

i wouldn't trust one to last very long, but i just found this:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Slot-in-U..._Drives_ET&hash=item337873e9a5#ht_1840wt_1201 which seems too good to be true, but you can never trust people on ebay - especially people who cant spell.

i believe thats just the case that goes around a superdrive...
