A geographical oddity
So my wife's 15 year old boombox has given up the ghost. Not a big deal, but my daughter loves to listen to music (CDs and cassettes) on it. So, I'm trying to replace it for cheap.

I've looked at craigslist, and there isn't anything for sale nearby. While I am not in a rush, I darted looking at amazon, but reviews for cheaper systems are so confused, I can't get an accurate picture. I know that $30 isn't going to yield crisp highs and thundering lows, but I don't want to buy one only to replace it in two months.

Does anybody have any suggestions on an ultra cheap boombox that will last a few years?

Not so fast. In the interactive catalog, there is a table where it states that the 1776 supports CD-R (but apparently not CD-RW).

2 Watts RMS.
