I need 4 screens for my mini. I don't do anything graphics intensive, but for my work flow, I need a fourth screen. It's my understanding that DisplayLink doesn't work on 10.15 (not that I wanted to go that route).

So, what do you folks suggest?

How cheap we talkin’?

I bet you can find a Thunderbolt 3 eGPU on eBay. If your Mac Mini uses TB1 or 2 you can use a TB3 eGPU with Purge Wrangler + Apple’s TB3 to TB2 Adapter.

In the end, I’m looking to pay $250ish all-in. I should have added that (1) my mini is a 2018 model and (2) I am not opposed to buying used from a reliable seller.

What do you think about using a rx470 or 480?

They're close to the RX 580 and should work fine.

You'll definitely be looking at an eBay external enclosure and GPU. Most enclosures start at $199 on their own, new.
