I have been looking around this forum and i've noticed that many of the boxes you can purchase to connect your vcr to your computer are all over 100 dollars. Besides connecting your vcr to a dv camcorder and then finally capturing it on ur mac is there a cheap box interface or something similar that could allow me to capture vcr video without a hole in my wallet?

Thanks,

Danny

im assuming you do not own a DV cam then?

you dont have to capture to a DV tape, then import, you can just pass the signal through the cam into the computer directly.

If you don't have one and don't want to spend $299 on a new DV camcorder you can also consider buying a cheap broken DV camcorder where the passthrough works just fine, but the screen/lens/tape transport mechanism is broken.
