hello all,
just bought an iphone 5s. This is first time owning an apple product since my old ipod 4th gen.
So my issue is that I have a bunch of old ipod 4th gen charging cables (the 30 pin ones) that i bought off ebay for about $3 a pop. I've since read that cheap cables can often (unbeknownst by me back then) fry one's phone and/or battery. Would this risk be negated for my new iphone 5s if i bought an official Apple 30-pin-to-lightning-cable adapter?

It also says that video output would not be supported by this adapter. Would this mean that I would be unable to upload videos from my laptop's itunes to my iphone, or download recorded videos from my iphone, using this adapter?
Thanks.....
