So for the past few days, I was looking around the refurbished model for a Mac Pro and found one perfect for me. It was around 2,200 dollars for the early 2009 model, but now it's in someones possession (Bought).

I was wondering where I can get a cheap Mac pro online.

Thanks

Just keep checking the Apple refurb site. A half dozen models pop on and off throughout the day.

Some of these configs are so customized that I have to wonder if Apple is just cherry picking them and selling them as "refurbished" even though they aren't to make sales. For example, this one keeps popping up every day, usually with a quantity of 1. There's no way this config was picked by numerous people and returned at a steady rate to allow them to keep restocking it every day.

Refurbished Mac Pro 2.93GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
One 2.93GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" processor
6GB (3x2GB) of 1066MHz DDR3 ECC memory
1TB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7200 rpm
Two 18x SuperDrives (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
ATI Radeon HD 4870 with 512MB GDDR5 memory

Perhaps they are units randomly pulled from production runs and tested for reliability, then repackaged as refurbished?

^ Nope. They're usually returned. For example, you get some dude who buys a MBP and has buyer's remorse so they take it back. Or there is a .00001111 mm gap between glass and bezel of a phone so it's returned. All these go back to refurb.

If looking for a refurb you ned to look daily and mostly a few times per day.
Cheap 2009 MP? eBay maybe but you will get what you pay for if the discount is too good.

Personally, I'd buy a 2008 MP before I'd buy the new one.

I prefer the 2009 model because of the Nehalem Processors. The Geekbench scores are massively greater and I just think it's worth it, plus I'm gonna be using it for a long time.

Fair enough but aren't they having threading issues?
Either way, refurb store ... live on it.

Haha nice. Well, I'll just have to look for one and keep checking.
BUT I've found a great site to get a brand new model for the model I'm looking into for 2,229.
So thats an awesome deal.

Erm... MR's a International site, so mind if I ask which country you looking at? Might help others locate deals for you.
