Just wondering if there was a cheap place I could go to buy an upgrade copy of OS 10.1. The reason I don't go out and buy Leopard is that the machine i intend to put it on is a Bondi Blue iMac G3 Rev. A, 256 MB RAM, 20 GB Seagate hard drive, 24x CDROM drive.
Thanks for the help,

I don't. But I'm sure you could find it on eBay. And it should be quite cheap (~$10?). Just make sure you get the full retail version.

There's no such thing. It's not an upgrade.
10.x is completely different than 9.x.

It's a completely new OS that requires a completely new installation.

...But you want a retail version as compared to a version that was bundled with another new Mac, and therefore may not necessarily work on yours.

You should be able to go as high as 10.3 without Firewire and 10.4 by simply adding a firewire card.

My uncle has a similar iMac g3 and it handles 10.3.9 quite well with no upgrades.
