define cheap. new or used? desired resolution? any particular features? cheap and 20+" crt dont really go together...i'd probably go with something from dell. a quick check on their websites reveals a couple 3rd party ones for 650-700ish.

Re: cheap20"+ crt

New? Used? How cheap?

Viewsonic has a good 22" - Viewsonic P220F CAN$850

NEC, Samsung and others have 21" monitors. Sony's biggest CRT is now 19", any larger Sonys you see are old stock or used.

The 20" Sun and HP monitors that you see advertised as Sonys on EBay and discounters are usualy old, fixed-resolution monitors from Unix workstations. They cannot sync to different Mac resolutions - buyer beware.

Remember that any savings on used monitors will get eaten up with major-league shipping charges (80 Lbs +), especially if the unit is defective on arrival or needs out-of-warranty repairs. Doubly bad if it was from out of country. There are plenty of vendors in Canada.
