Hello.

Need some advice on purchasing secondhand 2012 Macbook Pros.

With the price drop of the rMBPs it seems everyone is out selling their 'old' machines. When I say old I mean some of them are claiming they are anywhere between 8-3 months old.

You can buy a mid-2012 MBP for about $8-900 USD. With apple care.

What does everyone think? Buy one of these or get a new rMBP?

Point me to the place I can get those and I will buy every one.

Confusion

Sorry I do not mean people are selling their 2012 rmbps. I mean they are selling their 2012 cmbps.

I know. I stuffed the thread up and I'm now having an existential crisis.

In short:

$900AUD 2012 256G secondhand cMBP vs new $1700AUD 2013 256G rMBP?

I might sell my Classic and buy a Mac Mini. Depends if I get a good offer for it. It's only about 4 months old with full upgrades. We'll see.

I definitely will not be dumb about selling it. This is still the same Classic 13" you buy at the store for $1199 plus tax.

What the heck... That's even cheaper than the student discount.

+1 to you for pointing that out. Now I know where to buy my 15" retina.
