Cheaper alternative usb cable for charge and sync?

I don’t want to pay $20 for a usb cable. What are some cheaper alternatives? I know cables for older ipods don’t work with the the 3GS. The dock that I used with my 1st gen Ipod touch doesn’t work. it only sync and can’t charge so I need something that can charge and sync.

I'm looking for a cheap alternative for charging and I just purchased this on ebay. I'm really not sure if it will sync the iphone. You may want to ask the seller. For $3, you get a home charger, car charger, and usb charger. I'm fine with using the Apple cable that came with the iPhone for syncing but I'd like to have extra chargers to charge while I'm at work, in my car, and keep one in my travel bag. Does anyone else use any of these ebay chargers?
