cheaper and different model of the iphone

i'm wondering if apple will ever release a cheaper and different model of the iphone. similar to how there are the ipod classic. ipod touch. ipod shuffle. ipod mini. etc.

i highly doubt it. i think the only difference we will see is a difference in memory. with price drops occurring after the release of next generation iphones.

what does everyone else think?
