Okay, so I think I only NEED about 3GB RAM to run what I'll into in the near future(Logic Pro to record my band). I figure I can buy more in the future when prices have dropped or as I need it. Ater looking around, DMS has 2x1GB, Apple Approved for $178 and 4x1GB for $396(This is more than just buying two orders of 2x1GB- $40 more).....so I'm curious now, is there a reason for this? Couldn't I get any two orders of (2x1GB) and they'd work fine together?

One more question that's probably been asked before...when a company is selling different RAM of the same configuration for different prices, are the cheaper ones generally somehow inferior? What's the deal with these OWC prices for instance?

That's probably a glitch in the website pricing at DMS

When a reputable company like DMS or OWC offers 2 brands, they are guaranteeing that both brands have the same specifications, and that both will work in your machine. Generally, a pricing difference simply reflects the different wholesale costs from the manufacturers, which change week to week (if not day by day)
