Cheaper option for mini displayport to DVI?

I don't mind if I have to daisy chain a couple of connectors, but I couldn't find any generics out there. Don't really want to spend 30 on a freaking adapter, I wish Apple had included it.

Nope, practically no generics out there - they probably can't keep up with Apple's deadly port changing pace .

Buy the adapter. For spending $1300/2000/2500 or whatever already, $30 isn't much. Maybe you should just look for a whole other computer since a $30 adapter is out of your huge budget.
