Cheapest/best option for broken screen?

Hey guys.
I dropped my ipad and shattered the screen (digitizer).
IT's a new iPad. What are my options at this point? Anyone know how much it is to ask apple to fix it vs having a 3rd party do it?

Do you have Apple Care...is this not covered by Apple Care?
