Hello there, im a multimedia student in the uk, and im a hardcore mac fan, have not used windows for some time now, but ive got myself in a situation were i need windows to use 3D studio max for university. All i want to do is get a copy of say XP and run it in boot camp so i can use this software. What is the cheapest way of getting hold of a copy of XP or another OS that can run 3D Studio max well. (Anything that is pirate is not an option)

Thanks

As long as you are willing to "rearm" every 30 days and reinstall every 120 days, the cheapest option is free. http://lifehacker.com/5341666/run-windows-7-for-120-days-without-activation.

In the US at least our only fully legitimate option is to buy a copy of the full packaged product retail version of Windows and install that. Anything else is questionable in terms of compliance of the license.
