Cheapest place to buy 2013 Air new?

I need a macbook air for my wife, I would think the base model or the 256 would be fine, where can I get the best deal? I read somewhere some time back there was like 300 off but cant find that anymore

There was never $300 off on a new MBA. Best Buy sometimes has $100 off and there's a $100 educational discount.

I remember someone posted a thread here not too long ago, saying BestBuy was selling the base MacBook Air for $899, on sale until the end of today, if I remember correctly.
MacMall also has cheaper prices, and in many states does not have sales tax. While they are an "authorized Apple reseller", I bought my MacBook Air from the actual Apple Store just for the peace of mind, because I had heard their customer service was not up to standards.

Check the Marketplace. There's one on sale with 3 battery-cycle count i7 / 8GB /256 plus AC thru 2016 for $1600.... It's not brand new, but 3 charge cycles is pretty close!

Cheap or good? They are often mutually exclusive. Shot for a refurb from Apple with a warranty.
