I'm looking at buying the base model 13" MBP in the next few weeks and was hoping someone could point me in the best place to buy one for the lowest price. I'm a student if that helps! Thanks!

Yep, Microcenter definitely has the best deal around if you are looking for a new machine. You could always look in the marketplace for a machine that is used but may have better specs. People here normally take very good care of their hardware, so there are a lot of "like new" sales out there. I have had a lot of buying and selling things there, it's worth a look.

Just to clarify on the last post, If you or someone you know has a kindle with special offers ($114 msrp), today is the last day to enroll in the coupon for 20% off computers.

It's only one coupon per kindle. Anyway, the 13" mbp comes out to be just under $909 without tax unless you live in the few states amazon charges tax in. If you go out now and buy a kindle you'd still save money. That will be the cheapest route.

Here's the thread already talking about it:

that deal better than the education discount?

well, assuming you are in the US. Education price is $1099 + tax with a $100 gift card for the itunes/ibook/app store. Amazon is $909 without out tax so if you really want a gift card, you could still buy one and be less that the apple store.

But you really need to go out and buy a KINDLE WITH SPECIAL OFFERS right now if you are thinking about it. Today is the last day to get the offer. Once they email you the code, you have until September to use it.
