Hi all,

Unfortunately I will be traveling starting the 24th in the early AM, so I won't be able to preorder (unless it's a midnight launch, but I don't think they've ever done that before). The good news is that I will be able to save a few bucks, as CA's tax rate is high and I have heard that they tax you for the unsubsidized price, which is crazy. I would like to get my iPhone during the trip at some point, and I will be hitting Phoenix, DC, and Baltimore. Can people who have bought iPhones in those states what the sales tax is like and if they tax the unsubsidized price? Thanks!

****** is funny, but this is actually a valid question requiring three Google searches, because of the cities involved.

Maryland sales tax is 5% IIRC. Probably higher in the city.

I seem to remember DC is 6% or higher.

If you are in Maryland and have any reason to travel east, Delaware has no sales tax, although it's probably not wise to drive many miles to save $15...

DC is 6%, MD and VA are 5%. If you are going to be near Delaware (short drive me Baltimore) there is no sales tax, but hardly worth it to save $10.

I believe it will come to a final total of $213.93 here in New Jersey .. 7% sales tax :apple:

Doesn't tell me if the state charges tax on the unsubsidized price or not.

Thanks for trying to help, though!
then you also have to find out if there is an extra tax depending on what county you are visiting. like where i am, the st sales tax is 6%, but the county charges an extra 1% :))
