Nope.

And for most people, keynote is pretty pointless, so it is cheaper to just get numbers and pages.

why is keynote pointless? you mean compared to powerpoint? if that's the case, then aren't pages and numbers just as pointless?

For most people, powerpoint is pointless as well.

Unless your job involves doing presentations via slides in front of an audience, you don't need a program like keynote or powerpoint.

If you need that, fine. But most people don't.... A word processor and spreadsheet is far more commonly needed though.

The individual apps are. iWork isn't, last i checked.
Keynote, Pages, and Numbers put together IS iWork.

Pointless?! Keynote beats powerpoint like a drum all day long!

Hi all

Do you have any idea where I can get the iwork 09 suite for a good low price, please? I live in the UK.

Thank you
Aren't keynote, pages, and numbers available in the app store for $19.99? (Whatever that converts to in pounds.) That seems like a good low price to me!

Your best bet is to give your money directly to Apple. Cut out the middleman, and allow Apple to get all of the profits from its hard work. Anything else is cheating Apple, when they are the ones who you should be supporting.

Op buy the App Store version it's updated for free like most apps.

"Pretty pointless" !!! that statement says far more about the original post than the actual software.

I have used Keynote for all sorts of projects, few of which were actually normal presentations. It has a multitude of uses and ties in really great with MAC apps such as iPhoto and iTunes. I have used it for Photo Shows, Booklet Production, Print Layout, Special Effects, PDF production and Movies. Its always worth watching Apple's own videos of their software to get you imagination going.

I have iLife 08 but when the Apps started selling separately I just went for the latest versions of Keynote and Pages through the App Store. I didn't find Numbers as intuitive as I expected so kept the 08 version. I don't use spreadsheets that much so often I just prefer to use Openoffice when I need to do any spreadsheet work. I suppose I could use their Word Processor as well but have spent a lot of time using Pages to produce fully featured documents, so will stick with it.

What you obviously mean is 'I have no need for keynote, so if you use iWork the way I do, don't buy keynote.'
I use pages and keynote all the time. Keynote more than pages. I never use numbers. Use cases vary.
