I have a Black iPhone 4 that I got on launch day in June 2010. I really want the White iPhone 4 but don't want to pay the early upgrade price. Is there a way to extend my 2 year contract and get it for 200$? HELPP!

Type *NEW# into your phone and see when your early upgrade is available (for some people it's yearly) so wait a few weeks and you might be able to get it for slightly cheaper then sell your black iPhone to offset the extra cost.

It says I am available for an Early Upgrade..how much will that cost me?

Add a new line and get a white iPhone for that line. Then switch the white iPhone over the the original line and put a dumb phone on the secondary line and cancel the data plan on the secondary line. Then sell the black iPhone.

Cost: ($200 for new iPhone + $10 per month x 24 months for new line) = $440
$440-$500 (sell old phone)= you save about $60.

Sell your current phone $400-500, and buy the white version at retail $600

you under your $200 expense and you didnt have to sign up for another 2 years!

did you forget the cost for the black iphone if it is still under contract for data plan?

This seems off.. My wife and I both upgraded to the iPhone 4 at launch, last June. Her line is eligible for the full subsidized price of $299 (white 32GB) in June. Mine is eligible for the partial subsidized price of $499, in a few weeks.. So yeah, just gonna wait for the iPhone 5.

No because the new white iPhone is taking over the black iPhone's data plan on the original line. Then you're putting a dumb phone on the secondary line without any data plan.
