Apple today updated its Apple Cash feature to introduce a set of stickers that can be used in the Messages app. The stickers are Apple Cash themed, featuring emoji that you might want to use when sending or receiving a payment.

Each sticker is animated, and has an iridescent texture that gives a glinting effect as the sticker moves.

The Apple Cash stickers are rolling out to users starting today. You can find them by opening up the Messages app and selecting a conversation, then tapping on the "+" button next to the text bar. From there, tap on the "Stickers" option and swipe over to Apple Cash.

Apple Cash stickers will show up in the Messages Sticker list automatically, and there is no option to download them from the Sticker App Store. The stickers also aren't able to be removed, because Apple Cash is not an app that can be uninstalled.

We still lack the important Emoji/Sticker of a squid eating white chocolate sitting on a blue crocodile leather chair in a bar - so I will skip this opportunity.

I wonder how long it will be before the EU designates these an anticompetitive practice? “Apple must make these emoji’s interoperable with every pay app in the EU or face a 2 trillion dollar fine.”

Can you do charge-backs with Apple Cash? I ask because I've been screwed by PayPal as a vendor and now only take Zelle.

I suppose there are some iPhone owners that want to see these things on their screen when they send money to someone else or receive money from someone else.

I really do love my Apple devices, but I could do without this. I don't see the point of implementing this on a $1K plus device that has incredible potential, yet the OS is in a perpetual state of brokenness due to incomplete functions and features.

Why can't we have something that just works without the nonsense...

I'm sure the android folks say the same thing. So, it is not just Apple that does this sort of thing.

Agreed. I wish Apple Cash has better adoption; I'd much rather use than Venmo or Zelle. (And can someone please tell me why anyone wants a public social feed of Venmo payments?)

PS: However, Apple Cash stickers seem stupid AF.)
So you can spot anomalies or sketchy transactions.
