I purchased a MacBook Air for my wife on 10/16 and included a copy of Pages for her ($19.99). Well, after this past Tuesday's announcement, Pages (and its ilk) are now free. As a matter of fact, the order configuration no longer mentions Pages in the order, but my original e-mail confirmation does and the price I paid reflects the extra $19.99 for Pages. When I called Apple to get the money back, they were quite confused but did eventually issue a credit.

It doesn't look like this is going to be adjusted automatically. AFAIK, you have to call for the credit.

This applies to you if you purchased a new MacBook (Air or otherwise) on or after October 1st and included any of the extra cost software from Apple. Not sure about desktop models.

I'm sorry I don't mean to be rude but why would anyone purchase software preloaded when you can get it for, the App Store for the same price.? Just curious
