Checking ambient temperature on Terminal

Is there a way to check ambient temperature on Terminal? I have iStat widget, and suddenly it's not displaying ambient temperature. I was wondering whether the sensor failed... So I would like to trigger the sensor to see if it's working correctly. So is there a code that I can enter on Terminal to see temperature summary?
