but I'm already on a mobile share value plan with a discount, why do they have to charge me an extra $40?

No it isn't. They want to change my data plan, there is no upgrade fee

$40/mo is lone charge if you get a subsidy. Otherwise it's $15. With my plan you'd be a fool to go the two-year contract/subsidy route because it's an extra $25/mo for two years AND the cost of the phone. There must be some other plans where it makes sense still.

Thanks for this I was confusing something too, it said $115 so I assumed that was $75 tax + $40 new fee, but $115 is what it said was estimated tax which doesn't make sense for a 128gb i6

They did the same to mine but it seems like they put my phone on a totally different line. Going to have to call in a few hours
