I was at the Chicago Marathon pre-race expo today at McCormick Place and was surprised to see that H-P was there selling 4-G iPods, but Apple was nowhere in sight. Nike was selling mp3 players too. I know that the iPod mini is wildly popular among runners, it seems like a huge missed opportunity for Apple to skip out on an event with 40,000 fairly affluent attendees.

I don't figure that Apple really needs to advertise... Most people that will buy one know about it already. Things that are flying off the shelf don't need to be sold.
