iPhone 6 preorders reportedly top a massive 20 million units in China

iPhone 6 reservations started in China as soon as Apple announced official launch plans for its 2014 smartphones in the biggest mobile market in the world, days before Apple’s announced preorder date for the country, topping by some accounts over 9 million. Actual iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus preorders began on Friday in China, with Apple reportedly selling over 1 million units in just six hours. Since then, Apple may have sold even more units in the region, according to a Digitimes report.

FROM EARLIER: It took Apple just 6 hours to sell 1 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus handsets in China

The publication says that iPhone 6 preorders have topped 20 million units from October 10 to October 13, citing a report from Chinese publication Tencent.

Apparently, Jingdong Mall took more than 10 million iPhone 6 preorders during the period, with the main three mobile operators in the country selling more than 10 million iPhone 6 units as well.

Jingdong Mall sold 4.66 million iPhone 6 and 4.82 million iPhone 6 Plus units, the report said.

A recent report suggested Apple may have sold over 21 million combined iPhone 6 units in the first two weeks of sales in more than 30 markets, not including China.

The iPhone 6 is supposed to start selling in stores in China on October 17.

20 Million preorders in CHINA alone, while Apple sold 10 Million WORLDWIDE. That is a lot of iphones.

Wow, this will have to definitely effect United States supply, at least for the near term.
