So my Son has returned to UK with a China Unicom 3GS iPhone...

I blasted him for buying it, saying that it was locked and the WiFi was unusable, anyhow...to help prevent another major domestic argument can anybody tell me what steps (if any) can I take to open it up like a good old 'normal' and 'free world' iPhone 3GS.

I'd really appreciate the input so major thanks in advance.

I was always under the impression that the phone shipped without WiFi inside it... i.e. there was no way to enable it, knowing me though, I'm probably wrong and someone will come to the rescue. Good luck, hope there isn't any further arguments!!
