Just got an email saying that the Chipolo One Spot tracker (compatible with Find My) is now available for pre-order on their site in a 1 or 4 pack.

Not sure I’ll be getting any (as it doesn’t seem to offer anything the Airtag doesn’t) but it does give an alternative to to Airtags I guess?

Probably a good option for larger items like backpacks that you probably dont need UWB to find.. Just get close enough and you will see it, or make it beep.

Would there be any disadvantage to the One Spot? Specifically, I'm wondering if it would have the same advantage as the Air Tag in terms of being locatable via other people's phones picking it up through the "Find My" network.

Follow up: Oh, it looks like the pre-order page says that does work - awesome! So I went ahead and pre-ordered.

I've got a couple for my car keys, as they are cheaper than AirTags. It will be interesting to compare, as I already have an AirTag.
Do you find the Chipolo to be louder than the Airtags? I have the Tile Pro and Airtags right now, and the Tile Pro is significantly louder than my Airtags. My aging parents who have hearing aids can't hear the Airtags, but they can hear the Tile Pro (which is why I have them setup with Tiles and not Airtags).
