I'd like to pick up a external display for my MBP, but I'm still debating on what type of monitor to pick up. I don't want to spend more than $400 and I'm looking for a high resolution 22" or 23" screen. Glossy would be nice, but it's not mandatory. My primary use for the external would be for video editing with Final Cut. Any suggestions?

Samsung 2343BW, 23", $349, Resolution: 2048 x 1152, Contrast: 20,000:1
Samsung 2443BW, 24", $369, Resolution: 1920 x 1200, Contrast: 20,000:1

I've looked at the above two models and I'm not sure which is better. The 2343BW offers a higher resolution and I don't mind going for the smaller model. Thoughts?

I would recommend the 2343bwx samsung. I just got one it was so easy to setup and looked great. The extra resolution is fabulous.

Appreciate the recommendation, Bryan.

I actually ended up going with the Dell S2209W for only $169 CAN (price matched by Best Buy). Regular price was $269.

Resolution is 1920 x 1200 and looks fantastic on dual monitor setup. Ordered the mini displayport to DVI cable yesterday.
