Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked before. I've searched the forum but can't find the info I'm after.

I'd like some advice on choosing between the low-end and mid-range 15" MacBook Pro's. I'm steadily getting into VJing (live video mixing) and animation/film production and was wondering if it's worth spending an extra £300 to get the MBP with 512MB of vid memory and a faster CPU.

Any advice/thoughts much appreciated. :)

Hi all,

In short, I'd say YES, (though partly because I think that's what you want to hear).

Splash out, you won't regret it, but I think you might if you don't.

Hi, thanks for your reply...

Well I'd prefer an unbiased response to be honest!

What I'd really like to hear is that the 512MB vid card won't give me a significant boost in performance and I can therefore go spend that extra £300 on beer!
