When watching videos on YouTube or trailers on Apple, how can I set what quality I want to watch the videos in? I cant seem to find the options (480p, 1080p, etc.).

I don't think you can select the video format. The iPad displays the resolution originally recorded from the source. Why would you want to set seeing a video to a lower resolution than it was recorded in?

If you're watching videos on YouTube, there should be an HQ button on the lower left corner. By default it's not selected and you only have a short window to press it before it disappears, if it does you'll have to refresh it.

i also had the same question

if I'm watching youtube, it would be nice to choose whether I'm loading the video in 720 or 1080 based on my current connection and situation.

as it stands, does anyone know if the ipad automatically loads 720 or 1080 assuming that both resolutions are available and that the connection is decent (~20mb/s)?
