I stream HD NBA basketball on my 2012 Macbook Pro through the League Pass subscription I bought. It works like a charm on the computer. However, when I use a Belkin MiniDisplay to HDMI adapter and a high speed HDMI cable to connect it to my 50" Panasonic TV, the audio gets annoyingly choppy.

I've fiddled with different settings, but to no avail. I even turned down the streaming speed from 3000/Kbps to 800/Kbps but this merely lowered the quality of what did come through, but did not stop the choppy playback.

More information: the HDMI cable brings the audio into the TV, which then sends it back out to a Yamaha AV receiver/home theatre system.

Before I go buy a bunch of new cables, I thought I'd ask around on here.

Does it seem obvious to any of you where the problem is and what the solution might be?

Is my best option just to run the audio separately from the Macbook into the AV receiver?
